Ski Touring

Escaping from the crowds and heading into the hills, with no restriction of pistes or lifts has to be the most rewarding possible way of skiing, allowing you to seek out fresh lines, challenging steeps, or just a great mountain journey, travelling fast through stunning high mountain scenery.

Introduction to ski touring - 2 to 5 Days

You don't have to be the world's best skier to enjoy ski touring, so long as you can ski in control on the piste then we can tailor any journey to your skill level making the most of the Cairngorm mountains.

For first time ski tourers the biggest difference to piste skiing is in getting used to the equipment; touring bindings, skins for moving uphill and more flexiable boots. We would work on skinning technique including route choice and kick turns for steeper terrain.

Further skiils include off piste skiing techniques and dealing with variable snow conditions, route planning and navigation on skis, as well as avalanche avoidance.

Ski Guiding - 1 to 5 Days

If you are looking for the best snow and the nicest descents, or are looking to try a more ambitious tour, then why not let one of our guides show you the way. Working in these mountains all winter mean we know all the options and always have the best idea of up to date conditons.

Packages including ski hire can be arranged on request.
