Add some adventure to your days on the hill, and take on some of Scotlands classic rock scrambles. Enjoy moving quickly over interesting rocky terrain, without the exposure or slow rope-work of pitched climbing.
Suitable for anyone with good hill fitness and an adventurous spirit
We can provide a guide to help you take on some of Scotland’s best scrambles. Routes such as Tower Ridge or Ledge route on the North face of Ben Nevis, the Aonach Eagach ridge in Glencoe, or the Forcan Ridge in Kintail are popular classics.
Learn the skills to allow you to tackle scrambles and mountaineering ground independently. Including movement skills on rock in ascent and descent, route finding, basic rope skills using a sling and rope alone as well as selecting natural anchors, personal abseiling. More advanced skills of placing running belays, moving together and protecting a leader for short pitches can also be covered where appropriate.
If you are panning your first mountaineering trip in to the European Alps or Greater Ranges then a weekend with one of our instructors can help to ensure you are fully prepared. Skills covered will include moving together, multi-pitch climbing, self-rescue and crevasse rescue, with an emphasis on speed and efficiency to ensure you get the most out of you trip.
